At its annual international conference at Scottsdale, AZ this week, the Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) presented its 2018 Outstanding Captive Award to South Carolina-domiciled Energy Insurance Services, Inc. (EIS).
Now in its 26th year of operation, EIS was originally established in Bermuda in 1992, and was re-domiciled to South Carolina in 2006 as a sponsored captive. Today EIS has over 15 mutual business program cells, with aggregate cell assets of $1.4 billion, annual gross written premiums over $200 million, and aggregate surplus in excess of $140 million.
As a subsidiary of Energy Insurance Mutual (EIM), EIS provides EIM member companies with a range of critical coverages, from property, workers comp, general liability and employee benefits, to terrorism, wildfire, cyber liability, and more.
EIM members include some of the nation’s biggest utility and energy companies, and their risk managers include some of the best and brightest in the profession. The EIS platform is a central feature of the highly sophisticated risk management programs these companies have developed to address the many complex and specialized exposures they face.
We at the SCDOI are very proud to be the chosen captive domicile of EIS, and send our congratulations to the entire EIS/EIM team for this well-deserved award!
